Some of the material later published by Burton in his History of Sindh appears in the Bombay Government Records in the form of reports by Lieutenant Burton.

Postans in his Personal Observations on Sindh has incorporated (without clear acknowledgement) large portions of Mr Callcndar's Narrative. In the same work Postans has reprinted as an appendix (pp. 361-74) the ' Official Report on the state and navigation of the Indus below Hyderabad ' by Lieutenant Carlcss, Indian Navy.
